Buddha’s calling

I love this story … Reuters report that over in Japan, a female 86 year old Buddhist monk has written a mobile phone novel. In Japan, publishing on a mobile is perfectly respectable and often can lead to a best-seller in traditional book form. She decided to give mobile novels a go when she was asked to be a chairperson for a mobile phone novel award.

Wow. I don’t know where to start. Hurrah for female Buddhist monks! Hurrah for embracing a new part of your culture aged 86! Hurrah for Tomorrow’s Rainbow (that’s the name of the story by the way …)

Surely a UK publishing house should take note? Where are the authors willing to spread their digital wings? And is there a content portal ready for this type of quick-fix, digestible stories. Hmmm, maybe We Love Mobile are going to have to do something about it, if no one else will …
