Private Social Networks Launch

MarCom Professional adds private social networks for every member organisation, bringing the benefits of social networking inside the company

London, 11th December 2007 - The MarCom Professional team is delighted to announce today the launch of Private Social Networks, a new service that allows every MarCom Professional member affiliated with an organisation to get immediate access to that organisation's private social network. No set-up is needed and the service is free.

Only verified employees of an organisation have access to that organisation's private social network, making it effectively an "intranet".

The name of the member's organisation now appears in every member's main menu, making it easy for members to click through to the private social network. The benefits include:

  1. Internal communications: embedded videos and images lend more personality than email
  2. Ideal for many-to-many communication, reducing internal spam and leaving email the way it was meant to be... for one-to-one and one-to-few communication
  3. The social network can easily be set as your team's browser homepage
  4. Agency-wide use of the service helps bring staff who are less comfortable with the world of social networking into the fold
  5. Your colleagues can post about all sorts of things that affect your agency or organisation and your marketplace... helping your staff learn from one another
  6. Over time, your private social network will form a powerful and fully searchable private knowledge base
  7. Bring the wider content available on MarCom Professional to your colleagues' attention, assisting in organisation-wide staff learning
  8. Automatic notification is available for when new content is posted.

Andrew Betts, MarCom Professional co-founder, says "MarCom Professional is amongst the first social professional networks in the world, and the first for the marketing communications industry. Our private social networks service adds a new dimension to the benefits of social professional networking, and I'm delighted that we're doing it first for marketers... the profession most affected by the whole social networking phenomena."
