The Hills - Social TV

MTV in the US have created an interesting initiative around their reality show The Hills

“The Hills Backchannel is a multi-player social game you play while watching The Hills. Respond to what’s happening on the show by creating comments in real-time. Score points when other players click on your comments, and when you predict the most popular comments.”

You can watch an overview here

I for one think this is a great initiative and a really effective partnership between the TV and the web.

Alone, the twitter style feed over the show would have been an interesting addition but to take that element and turn it in to a gaming experience is commendable.

I am not sure how well recieved this has been and would be interested to know more..

Well done MTV, I hope its a huge success.
