You decide - new features

We have so many ideas for developing MarCom Professional and we'd love your input so the network develops the way you want it to. Here's a brief description of some ideas, so please feel free to comment on these, on variations of these if something takes your fancy, or on something completely different if you feel strongly about it.

A.
The ability to leave public messages for other members. What Facebook calls a "wall"... although perhaps, from our business perspective, we could call ours "flipchart" or something similar?

B.
There are plenty of RSS feeds published by MarCom Professional, but we could also pull in RSS feeds. For example, your agency may publish an RSS feed of your news, and we could import that to expand the audience for you.

C.
We could create an "Organisations" page, mapping the location of everyone's office on a Google Map. It might be interesting to see who's just round the corner, and could form part of a new "find an agency" feature.

D.
We have three post types at the moment: normal, restaurant and venue. The latter two allow us to share our opinions of restaurants and venues from a marketing communications perspective eg, client lunches, event management. We could add a fourth post type, a diary post. This alerts members to upcoming events they might be interested in, and could manage member invitations.

Paul - I agree. It's a shame so many people haven't uploaded their own photos yet (hint). :-)

Love the idea of a "find an agency" feature. The Google Maps approach would be interesting from a real world networking perspective rather than "find an agency" specifically.

And with this in mind, populating our organisational page on MarCom Professional with our published feed could aid a prospective client's search.

So C and B get my vote. By the way, like A and D too :-)

I'd love to see the ability to bring in blog posts from other sites - much like the "share url" feature on Facebook. I write lots of blog posts in other areas that I'd like to be able to share on here without having to just copy and paste them, therefor creating duplicate content...

It'd be nice of the bugs were fixed on the site too, like how you have to submit everything twice - this box doesn't even display properly. How do I submit this?! Arrrggghhh!!!

We now have a new feature to keep you posted by email. Check out your "My Page" (when you're logged in obviously) for the settings available to you. Will announce this in this week's Roundup too.

    Henry,
Another one we'd like to have ready by this week's Roundup. Watch this space.

Thanks, and keep the ideas flowing. We can't always be quite as responsive as we have here as it depends on the tech development time needed to create a new feature, but we try hard!
