Are top companies losing out on valuable search engine traffic?
A new study released by Hitwise today, states that small businesses benefit the most from search engine referrals. Looking at the search traffic for the companies in the Internet Retailer's top 500 list over the past two years, over 50% of business in positions 400-500 in this list recieved over half of all their website visits from search engines. Conversley, only one of the business listed in the top 100 recieved more than 30% of traffic from a search engine.

Consumers very keen to avoid online ads
Maybe this isn't such a revelation in the industry, but its official; as online consumers become more sophisticated it seems that we are extremely interested in avoiding adverts.
