To register on MarCom Professional, you must belong to one of the following groups of people. Click on the description below that best applies to you:

You work for a marcom organisation

You work for a marketing communications organisation. Eg, you're employed by a PR agency, a marketing agency, an advertising agency, a digital agency, etc.

You are an in-house marcom professional

You have a marketing communications role in an organisation that's not a marketing communications organisation. Eg, VP of Marketing for a bank, PR Manager for a retailer.

You are a marcom freelancer

You're a marcom freelancer, contract worker or sole trader. You work on temporary contracts for a few weeks or months at a time. You're a portfolio worker. You're a gun for hire. (To register as a freelancer, your marcom freelancer status will need to be confirmed by someone who as already signed up to MarCom Professional - please have a referee email address ready before you register).

You are a marcom journalist

You're a journalist with a particular focus on marketing communications. Eg, you work for Publisher X that produces Publication ABC for which you contribute articles on marketing communications.

You are a marcom blogger

You are a blogger with a particular focus on marketing communications. (To register as a blogger, you will be required to put a special link in your blog or blogroll to verify your connection to the blog).

You are a marcom teacher or student

You are a marketing communications teacher or student at an education establishment.

Here are a few important notes about your membership of MarCom Professional:

  • You need to be verified as a professional, student or writer in marketing communications to join MarCom Professional. If we can't verify you by your email address, we'll still accept your application and we'll let you know once we've verified the details you've supplied.
  • If you register as an independent blogger or freelancer, we'll employ additional verification to make sure you are who you say you are - please see the appropriate section on the left for more info.
  • All posts that you make on MarCom Professional will be credited to you by name and organisation affiliation, but you can also register an anonymous profile if you wish to have the option to participate under a pseudonym. You can set this up from your profile page once you have registered.
  • Anything you contribute to MarCom Professional is licensed under a Creative Commons 'Attribution/Non-commerical/No derivative works' licence, meaning that others can copy your content and use it elsewhere provided that it is reproduced faithfully, not used for commercial reasons and you are properly credited as the author.
